The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) has opened a worldwide call to build a roster of experienced carbon market professionals to contribute to its growing portfolio of climate initiatives. With more than four decades of experience shaping practical climate solutions, CCAP collaborates with governments, development institutions, and private sector actors to advance carbon market systems that prioritize environmental credibility, transparency, and sustainable development outcomes.
Through this initiative, the organization seeks specialists capable of offering technical guidance, analytical input, and strategic advisory support across a wide range of projects focused on carbon market readiness and operational implementation.
Areas of Expertise
Professionals with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following domains are encouraged to express interest:
Article 6 of the Paris Agreement

Cooperative approaches under Article 6.2, including ITMO authorization frameworks

Development of the Article 6.4 mechanism and related methodologies
-
National readiness planning, institutional design, and regulatory structures
-
Authorization procedures, corresponding adjustments, and carbon accounting systems

Integration of Article 6 tools into NDC implementation pathways
Voluntary Carbon Markets (VCM)

Design and development of carbon credit projects
-
Application and advancement of recognized standards such as Verra, Gold Standard, American Carbon Registry, and Climate Action Reserve

Environmental safeguards, quality assurance, and integrity assessments

Corporate climate strategies and carbon credit sourcing

Governance and integrity initiatives including the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market and the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative
Carbon Market Policy and Regulatory Design

Emissions Trading Systems (ETS), carbon taxes, and crediting mechanisms

Institutional and legal framework development

Policy drafting and regulatory advisory services

Nature of Engagement
Consultants selected for the roster may be contracted for short-term or extended assignments depending on project demands. Assignments may include:

Analytical studies and technical reporting

Stakeholder consultations and facilitation

Capacity-building workshops and training delivery

Additional Information
