The African Union Commission (AUC) is seeking to appoint the third Chairperson’s Youth Envoy to champion the voices, interests, and aspirations of young people across Africa. Working closely with the Women, Gender and Youth Directorate (WGYD), the Youth Envoy will serve as a high-level advocate for youth participation, facilitate dialogue between African youth and AU leadership, and promote the implementation of continental youth policies and commitments under Agenda 2063.

The successful candidate will serve as the official African Union Commission Chairperson’s Youth Envoy, representing the interests of young Africans at the highest policy levels across the continent. The position offers opportunities to shape continental youth policies, engage with governments, development partners, civil society, and international organizations, while leading advocacy initiatives that advance youth empowerment and participation. The role also comes with a competitive remuneration package, international exposure, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the implementation of Agenda 2063. Internationally recruited staff receive an annual lump-sum salary of US$96,921.34, while locally recruited staff receive US$78,461.08, inclusive of allowances. (African Union Jobs)
