Job Opportunity : Green Climate Fund (GCF) is looking for a Communications Specialist – Green Climate Fund (GCF)

The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest multilateral climate fund, dedicated to supporting climate action in developing countries. GCF fosters partnerships and accelerates investment for impactful climate programs that drive transformation, particularly for vulnerable communities.

Position Overview: The Communications Specialist will be responsible for leading the strategic design, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the Independent Redress Mechanism Communication Plan. This includes managing high-impact campaigns, refining key messaging, and enhancing the organization’s public image across various platforms. The role will also involve managing relationships with key external stakeholders, including civil society organizations, media, and redress mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Design and manage multi-year communications plans, overseeing social media campaigns, outreach efforts, and key messaging development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with civil society, media, and redress mechanisms, ensuring clear and effective communication across channels.
  • Campaign Management: Lead content creation for social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Mailchimp), and manage communication tools for external stakeholders.
  • Evaluation & Adaptation: Assess the effectiveness of communication efforts, adapt strategies, and ensure continuous improvement in outreach and messaging.
  • Internal Collaboration: Facilitate cross-team communication and coordination, working with colleagues across GCF’s diverse workforce.

Location: Incheon, South Korea

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other United Nations languages or regional languages is a plus.

Eligibility Criteria
Requirements:

Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field (Bachelor's degree with additional relevant experience also considered).
At least 7 years of experience in communications, particularly in developing countries, with expertise in digital and in-person communication campaigns.
Strong proficiency in social media management, content creation, and relationship building with external stakeholders.
Excellent English writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for broad audiences.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Strategic communication and leadership capabilities to align messaging with organizational goals.
Expertise in managing stakeholder relationships and fostering collaboration.
Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and analytics.
