Join the UNESCO Youth Climate Action Network (YoU-CAN) Steering Committee 2026–2027

Applications are now open for youth-led organizations and networks working on climate change to join the Steering Committee of the UNESCO Youth Climate Action Network (YoU-CAN). This global platform brings together youth climate actors from around the world to strengthen collaboration, amplify youth voices, and scale up youth-driven climate action and research.

The Steering Committee plays a central role in guiding the network’s direction, coordinating activities, and supporting engagement between youth organizations and UNESCO. For the 2026–2027 term, eight new representatives will be selected to serve for two years.

Available Roles

Selected organizations will appoint representatives to serve in one of the following leadership roles:

  • Main Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator – responsible for guiding the overall work of the network and serving as key focal points with UNESCO.

  • Thematic Coordinators – focusing on Science, Education, Culture, and Information, helping to connect thematic activities with UNESCO programmes.

  • Regional Coordinators – representing youth climate networks in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe and North America.

Deadline

Applications must be submitted by 15 February.

Eligibility Criteria
- The call is open to youth-led organizations and networks working on climate change and based in UNESCO Member States or Associate Members. Applicants should demonstrate active engagement in climate initiatives, youth mobilization, research, or advocacy.

Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe and North America.
