UNIDO is looking for experienced professionals to join the Montreal Protocol Project Development and Training Delivery roster. This temporary appointment offers an exciting chance to contribute to sustainable industrial development through climate innovation, low-carbon technologies, and compliance with the Montreal Protocol and Kigali Amendment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project proposals for climate adaptation and low-carbon initiatives.
  • Collaborate with national counterparts to design innovative solutions for sustainable cooling and refrigerant management.
  • Deliver technical training in refrigeration, air conditioning, and the use of natural refrigerants.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop national inventories related to the reduction of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
  • Enhance energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector, particularly in low-volume-consuming countries.
  • Support the establishment and enhancement of refrigerant recovery, recycling, and reclamation (RRR) systems.

Eligibility Criteria
Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Natural Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

At least 5 years of mid-to-senior level experience in project development, technical training, or policy implementation in climate change, environmental science, or energy efficiency.

Demonstrated experience with the Montreal Protocol, Global Environmental Facility (GEF), Adaptation Fund, or similar environmental funding mechanisms.

Strong understanding of national contexts related to ODS and HFC conversion projects.

Fluency in English (additional proficiency in French or Spanish is an advantage).
