Just Transition Academy 2.0 2026 – Call for Applications for Young Climate Leaders
The Just Transition Working Group of YOUNGO is inviting young people from around the world to apply for the Just Transition Academy 2.0, an interactive learning opportunity designed to help young people better understand the concept of a Just Transition and develop the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to climate action and climate justice.
Following the success of the inaugural academy, the 2026 edition returns with new learning sessions, practical tools and opportunities for participants to connect, exchange ideas and learn from other young people engaged in climate and sustainability work. The programme provides an opportunity for participants to explore how the transition towards a greener and more sustainable economy can be achieved in a way that is inclusive, equitable and leaves no one behind.
The academy is particularly relevant for young climate advocates, students, activists, emerging leaders and young people interested in climate justice, sustainable development, social equity and the transition to a low-carbon future. Through its interactive learning format, participants can strengthen their understanding of Just Transition while gaining perspectives that can support their work, studies, advocacy and community initiatives.
Participants who successfully complete the academy will receive a certificate of completion. They will also have the opportunity to connect with a wider network of young climate leaders and other participants who share an interest in advancing climate justice and sustainable development. This can provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration and networking beyond the academy itself.
The Just Transition Academy 2.0 is an opportunity for young people who want to move beyond simply understanding climate change and explore how climate solutions can also address inequality, livelihoods, social inclusion and the needs of communities affected by the transition. It offers a space to learn, engage with others and develop the knowledge needed to become more effective contributors to a just and sustainable future.
Interested young people are encouraged to apply and take part in the 2026 edition of the Just Transition Academy.
