Funding includes:

- Contribution toward the cost of round-trip airfare to Canada (amount varies by country of origin).
- Contribution to cover transportation from the Canadian airport to your accommodation.
- Housing stipend (amount varies based on country of origin).
- Stipend for student enrollment fees (amount varies depending on the host institution).
- Stipend for food and incidentals (amount varies by country of origin).
- Emergency health insurance coverage for the duration of the internship.
- Support from student mentors on campus in Canada.
- Access to industry events and professional development courses.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or combined undergraduate/master's program at an eligible institution (see country-specific list of eligible institutions).
- Have one to three semesters remaining in your program by fall 2025 (see country-specific requirements).
- Meet the GPA criteria for your country of study (see international partner GPA requirements).
- Apply to a minimum of three and a maximum of ten projects, ensuring selections span at least three different Canadian provinces.
- Be fluent in the project’s working language (English and/or French).
- Be available for a 12-week internship between May 1 and October 31, with the internship start date falling between May 1 and July 31. Internships starting outside of this period are not allowed.
- Must not have previously received a Globalink Research Internship.
- Applicants currently affiliated with, or receiving support from, institutions on the list of NROs are ineligible to participate in Mitacs-funded projects related to Sensitive Technology Research Areas (STRA).
- Mitacs will randomly review applications to verify the accuracy of submitted information.
- Mitacs reserves the right to withdraw funding for projects advancing a sensitive technology research area due to concerning affiliations at any stage.
