PAID FELLOWSHIP: Apply for the LEAP Africa leadership accelerator Programme 2025 for young African women changemakers

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 edition of LEAP Africa’s Leadership Accelerator Programme, an initiative aimed at bridging the gender gap in leadership across the African continent. This program is specifically crafted for young African women with high potential working in corporate environments, equipping them with essential expertise and insights to progress into leadership roles within their respective industries.

The programme begins with a complimentary digital course, consisting of ten concise modules that can be completed within a three-week period. These lessons address critical challenges faced by women in professional settings, particularly the obstacles that hinder career advancement. The course content is informed by a comprehensive needs assessment conducted with input from over 200 respondents, ensuring that it aligns with real workplace experiences and concerns.

Following the online segment, a week-long immersive training session will take place in person. This phase is designed for a select group of young African women, aged between 23 and 35, who successfully complete the online curriculum within the designated timeframe. The intensive experience is tailored for those determined to accelerate their professional growth and secure influential positions in their organizations or industries.

Upon completion of the leadership training, participants will embark on a key project that reflects their individual goals and aspirations. This initiative serves as an opportunity to apply the knowledge and competencies gained during the program, reinforcing their leadership development. These projects will be widely shared across LEAP Leadership Institute’s communication platforms to inspire other female professionals and encourage participation in similar endeavors.

To further strengthen their leadership journey, participants will engage in a structured mentorship experience spanning three months. Each individual will be paired with a mentor based on specific needs identified through their application responses. These mentorship sessions, occurring once or twice a month, will cover a broad range of topics, from professional advancement and leadership skills to personal development. Regular monthly check-ins will be conducted to ensure the mentorship objectives are effectively met.
