The 2024 OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) Internship Programme is now accepting applications.

Students from a variety of academic fields can gain experience working with an international organisation through the internship programme offered by the OPEC Fund. Over the course of three to six months, the internship programme aims to:

• Provide a framework to support students assigned to any OPEC Fund department so that the focus remains on enriching the student’s experience;
• Provide an immersive experience so that students gain practical experience of working for an international organization; and
• Provide the opportunity for students to understand the OPEC Fund’s vision, mission and related values.

Depending on their qualifications, interests, and the needs of the department, interns are assigned to various departments or units. One or more of the following areas can be the focus of an internship programme: financial operations; risk management; strategic planning and economic services; internal audit; human resources; administration; communication; legal services; information technology; private sector and trade finance operations; financial operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducting research;
• Writing documents;
• Organizing information; and
• Assisting employees with their day-to-day work.

• Cross-Cultural Sensitivity - The ability to take into account the variety of the human experience and how it contributes to the workplace and to demonstrate  respect for diverse cultures and viewpoints.

Successful candidates must be able to present a valid health or medical insurance policy for Austria or a similar certificate proving he / she will be fully covered from a medical perspective for the duration of the program.
