Job description:
The building and construction sector is experiencing substantial growth, with significant implications for the climate. The Partnership for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB, www.peeb.build) is focused on accelerating the transition to a zero-emission and resilient built environment. PEEB provides financing solutions for construction and renovation projects with high climate impact potential, alongside policy advice and capacity-building efforts to improve the conditions for such projects. Through its three programs—PEEB Cool, PEEB Med, and PEEB ASEAN—the Partnership works closely with governments in 21 partner countries, as well as financial institutions and the private sector. PEEB is jointly managed by the French development bank Agence Française de Développement (AFD), GIZ, and the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME). The coordination of PEEB’s activities is led by the PEEB Secretariat at AFD in Paris and GIZ in Bonn, with strong ties to the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) at the international level.

Your responsibilities during the internship will include:

Meetings and Events: Assisting with PEEB’s involvement in various events, such as climate conferences and international energy meetings; organizing webinars; and supporting PEEB donor meetings.

Research and Information: Conducting research on Green Building topics for PEEB publications (e.g., NDCs, financing through Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, gender inclusivity in construction, emissions calculation in the building sector); preparing presentations, background documents, and articles for the website.

Knowledge Management: Gathering and sharing valuable insights from both the GIZ network and external sources for the global community, in close coordination with GlobalABC.

Communication and PR: Promoting the project and its results through social media, the website, and other communication materials, while collaborating with the PEEB team and external consultants.

Project Implementation: Assisting team members with program- or country-specific tasks and supporting the preparation of standard services to be delivered.
