An internship with the GEF provides people with the chance to learn about the organisation and support its work for the environment globally. Throughout their internship, participants will be paired with a staff mentor and team.
Time frame
Depending on work demands and assignment, three to six months, full- or part-time. As per appropriate return-to-work guidelines at the World Bank and GEF, internships are intended to take place in person at the GEF offices in Washington, DC. In accordance with these guidelines, the potential for remote work arrangements will be evaluated case by case.

Holders of J1 visas must first obtain a G4 visa overseas in order to begin an internship at the GEF. There are World Bank staff rules in effect.
