PAID TRAINEESHIP: Apply form the European Union (EU) delegation to Nigeria traineeship for young Nigerians
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 fully funded traineeship program at the European Union Delegation in Nigeria. This opportunity is designed for recent graduates with a keen interest in global affairs who are eager to gain insight into the operations of a diplomatic mission. Participants will have the chance to explore how the EU Delegation promotes the interests and principles of the European Union within Nigeria.
This initiative offers a six-month traineeship within the Green and Digital Economy Section of the EU Delegation, set to commence no later than the end of May 2025. This department is responsible for overseeing a diverse range of projects and initiatives in sectors such as agriculture, environmental sustainability, renewable energy, energy efficiency, circular economy, technological innovation, digital transformation, youth employment, support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and investment facilitation.
Trainees will engage in extensive research and analysis on critical aspects of Nigeria’s sustainable economic development. Their responsibilities will also include tracking industry trends, assessing programs and initiatives led by other international development organizations, and actively participating in the design, evaluation, and implementation of EU-funded projects in collaboration with relevant local institutions. Additional tasks will involve preparing reports on events and official meetings, monitoring the progress of ongoing initiatives, and analyzing media coverage of key public and private sector developments in Nigeria.
Given the prevailing health and security conditions, only applicants who are currently based in Abuja will be considered for this opportunity. Eligible candidates must be Nigerian nationals who have completed at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. To qualify, candidates should have no more than one year of professional experience and must not have previously worked within EU institutions for a period exceeding six weeks.
Selected trainees will receive a monthly stipend to assist with living expenses throughout the program. However, all expenses related to travel, visas, health insurance, and accommodation will be the responsibility of the trainee. The deadline to submit applications is March 24, 2025.
