Program Benefits
The fellowship provides funding support for up to three years, with a maximum of USD 30,000 per year to cover tuition, research, and living expenses. Fellows also gain access to WWF’s global alumni and conservation network, which offers mentorship, professional development, and collaborative opportunities. Awardees are expected to return to their home countries after completing their degree to contribute to conservation capacity building and leadership.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be nationals of WWF-US priority countries and must be planning to pursue or already enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in a conservation-related field. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership potential, commitment to environmental conservation, and a clear plan to contribute to conservation in their home countries after their studies. There is also a special track for current or aspiring faculty members who are pursuing PhDs with the goal of developing or enhancing graduate-level conservation programs at universities in their countries.
