REMOTE JOB: Development Associate at Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF)

Applications are now open for the Development Associate position at the Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF). This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and passionate individual to support youth-led climate justice movements worldwide while contributing to a values-driven, global, and fully remote team.

The Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF) supports youth-led socio-environmental and climate justice movements through participatory grantmaking and capacity strengthening. Publicly launched in September 2023, YCJF is led by a global team of young people from diverse backgrounds and has already committed over $4.5 million to more than 115 grantee partners across 50+ countries. They work to build trust and bridge gaps between funders and young leaders, centering youth leadership, care, equity, and intersectional justice in all that they do.

They are seeking a passionate and driven Development Associate who will play a key role in supporting fundraising and resource mobilization efforts. Working closely with the development team and in collaboration with monitoring, evaluation and learning, communications, operations, and finance colleagues, the successful candidate will help strengthen donor engagement, grant processes, and fundraising systems to ensure the fund’s continued financial growth and stability. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about equitable approaches to resource mobilization within the philanthropic ecosystem, particularly in partnership with youth-led climate justice movements.

The Development Associate will contribute to drafting grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports, while supporting financial reporting and grant budget tracking in alignment with donor requirements. They will help maintain reporting templates, track submission and reporting deadlines, and ensure organized documentation for timely delivery. The role also involves conducting research to identify prospective funders, preparing funder briefs, maintaining fundraising pipelines, organizing development systems across shared platforms, tracking donor communications, and supporting the coordination of donor meetings and engagement events.

They are looking for candidates with one to three years of experience in non-profit development, grant writing, research, or a related field. Applicants should demonstrate excellent written communication skills in English, strong research and organizational abilities, proficiency with Google Workspace and spreadsheets, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines with close attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across diverse cultures in a remote setting, both independently and collaboratively, and will show a clear commitment to climate justice, youth leadership, and equity-centered work. Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com, lived experience in or connection to frontline communities, and strong interpersonal communication skills are considered assets.

This is a full-time, remote position (35 hours per week) open to candidates located between PST and GMT time zones, preferably based in a Global Majority country. The role reports to the Senior Officer for Development and is offered as a one-year renewable consultancy contract, subject to budget availability. The annual compensation is $40,000 USD.

Interested candidates are encouraged to review the full job description and submit their applications by Monday, March 16th at 9:00 a.m. CET.
