Applications are open for the position of Communications Manager at Youth and Environment Europe (YEE), aimed at enhancing the organisation’s public presence, clarity, and overall influence from April 2026 onward. This role focuses on shaping and guiding how YEE communicates its work, ensuring that all messaging is clear, inclusive, value-driven, and true to its youth-led and intersectional commitment to environmental and climate justice.

The Communications Manager oversees both internal and external communication efforts linked to projects, campaigns, and organisational developments. Through strategic storytelling and coordinated messaging, the role helps strengthen engagement with member organisations, partners, and broader audiences, while making sure that advocacy work, project results, and key updates are effectively shared across digital channels.

This position sits at the heart of the organisation and works in close cooperation with the Communications team, the Executive Board, and the Secretariat. It blends strategic planning with hands-on content production and coordination, supporting consistent communication processes throughout YEE. The role also involves collaborating with staff, volunteers, member groups, and external partners. Where projects lack dedicated communications support, the Communications Manager takes the lead in developing communication approaches, gathering inputs, and delivering high-quality materials on time.

Ideal candidates share YEE’s mission and values, bring prior experience in leading or coordinating teams, and are confident in producing and designing digital content such as social media visuals, publications, and short-form videos. A solid understanding of current environmental challenges and European Union policies is essential, alongside experience in website management. The role suits someone who thrives in a small, cooperative team, brings creativity and problem-solving skills, and enjoys working in an international and diverse setting.

Applicants must demonstrate excellent spoken and written English, be based in Europe with a valid right to work (preferably already holding an EU work permit), and be under the age of 35 by the end of the contract. A minimum of two years’ experience in a communications-focused role is required.

The position is offered under a service contract with a workload of 40 hours per week and a gross monthly remuneration of €3,603.19, in line with YEE’s internal policies. The mandate runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 December 2026, with a two-month probation period and the possibility of extension subject to funding. The selected individual must be able to issue invoices in accordance with national legal requirements. Candidates based in the Czech Republic may instead be offered a local employment contract under Czech labour law, in which case the stated gross salary may differ.
