RenewCred Carbon17 Science Fellowship – Cohort 1

The RenewCred Carbon17 Science Fellowship is now accepting applications for its founding cohort, bringing together 17 scientists and emerging researchers, with one fellow representing each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 12-week fellowship will run fully virtually from September to December 2026, requiring a commitment of approximately 12 hours per week. There is no application fee and no stipend.

Carbon17 is a working group of scientists examining the relationship between carbon crediting and the Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on rigorous, honest and evidence-based research.

Selected fellows will receive an official fellowship certificate, complimentary access to the RenewCred Climate Academy, membership in the RenewCred Science Community, and a complete contribution record documenting their submissions and peer-review work. Fellows will also benefit from post-fellowship career pathways, as well as global leadership, collaboration and networking opportunities.

This is an opportunity for scientists and researchers interested in climate action, carbon markets, sustainable development and the SDGs to contribute to an international research community while building their academic and professional profile.
