The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering an exciting internship opportunity within its Rome Centre for Climate Action and Energy Transition, supporting climate and energy initiatives that advance sustainable development globally.
This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates who are passionate about climate action, renewable energy, youth engagement, and international development, and who want hands-on experience working within a UN environment.
About the Role
As an Intern – Climate and Energy Project Support, you will work closely with UNDP teams to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of climate- and energy-related programmes. The role provides exposure to international policy processes, climate finance initiatives, and youth-focused climate action.
You will contribute to initiatives linked to:

Sustainable energy access (SDG 7)

Climate action and resilience (SDG 13)

Youth engagement and innovation

Climate finance and investment support
Key Responsibilities

Conduct research on climate change, renewable energy, and energy transition topics

Support coordination and tracking of climate and energy projects

Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials

Contribute to communication outputs such as newsletters and social media content

Help organize meetings, workshops, webinars, and international events

Provide general administrative and logistical support to programme teams
