The Okinawa Youth Council Programme is accepting submissions (Fully Funded to Japan)

The U.S. Department of State's U.S. Consulate General Naha has announced an open call for organizations and individuals  to apply to implement a programme for the Okinawa Youth Council.

The receiving organisation will organise a four-week programme consisting of three virtual webinars per week and a three-day in-person workshop in Okinawa Prefecture during the summer of 2024. It will also recruit and vet the participants, who will be college and university students.

Programme Goals
The following are the program's goals:

Discover the growing significance of the U.S.-Japan Alliance and how it can help prevent future crises in the Indo-Pacific area.
possess a deeper comprehension of the role played by the US military in regional security, and
Modify opinions that are neutral or unfavourable of US foreign policy.

While in-person seminars cover important U.S. military stations in Okinawa, the programme also offers online lectures and debates on the U.S.-Japan Alliance, municipalities that host military bases, and mainland Japan. Workshops require grant funding and are free for students to attend.

Think tanks, civil society/non-governmental organisations, public and private educational institutions, private individuals, public international organisations, and governmental institutions are examples of non-profit organisations.
