The UN agency for digital tech is calling for applications from youth who would like to join its Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Board 2024
The ITU Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Board is a dynamic initiative empowering young individuals to shape global connectivity's future. This board offers practical advice and diverse perspectives, aiming to bridge the digital divide and align ITU programs with Sustainable Development Goals. Members, 12 from 6 ITU Regions, will explore various telecommunications topics, embodying innovation and inclusivity while driving ITU's mission. Eligible candidates, aged 18 to 30, should demonstrate commitment to ITU's vision, impactful achievements in connectivity, involvement in STEM-related endeavors, knowledge of technology and international ICT policies, and a strong record advocating for youth, technology, and Sustainable Development Goals. The deadline for applications is January 12, 2024.

Additional Information
- Age between 18 to 30 years old
- Demonstrated dedication to ITU's vision
- Proven track record of impactful contributions to advancing fair, affordable, universal, innovative, and secure connectivity
- Leadership or participation in STEM-related research, publications, or organizations
- Sound understanding of technology and international ICT policies
- Expertise in STEM fields, particularly in emerging technologies like AI, space economy, cybersecurity, infrastructure, e-waste, circular economy, and leveraging digital technologies for climate change efforts, among other priority areas for ITU
- Advocacy for youth, technology, and Sustainable Development Goals
- Evidence of successful involvement in STEM projects, research, publications, recognition, presentations at conferences
- Capacity to serve on an individual basis, setting aside organizational and national affiliations
