VOLUNTEER ROLES: Apply for the OECD’s Youthwise Youth Advisory Board
Are you passionate about shaping the future and want to see real change in how global decisions are made? Then the OECD’s Youthwise programme might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Established in 2021, Youthwise serves as a bridge between young voices and the international policy-making world, inviting youth to actively contribute their ideas while learning firsthand how global governance works.
Youthwise is made up of dynamic individuals aged 18 to 30 who bring with them a rich blend of knowledge and experience. From artificial intelligence to climate action, and from education to gender equity, these young changemakers engage across a wide array of pressing issues that define our time. The initiative empowers youth to contribute meaningfully to the work of the OECD while also deepening their understanding of how international organisations like the OECD function.
Members of Youthwise take part in a wide range of activities designed to elevate youth perspectives in policy conversations. They engage in private consultations, join discussions with experts and stakeholders, and often present at high-profile events and virtual panels. In addition, Youthwise participants contribute to the creation of written and multimedia content that reflects their collective views and insights. Workshops with other youth initiatives allow them to connect with inspiring peers from across the globe, further broadening their worldview.
While the majority of engagements happen online, there are chances to attend in-person gatherings as well. Participation is entirely voluntary and not financially compensated, but it offers a unique and powerful learning experience. Youthwise looks for individuals who are not only fluent in English and deeply interested in inclusive, forward-thinking policies, but also respectful and open-minded when it comes to discussing complex and sometimes divisive issues.
Eligible candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old, hold citizenship in an OECD member country, and have no current or past affiliation with the OECD or any government agencies connected to the organisation. The upcoming cohort will be involved from July 2025 to June 2027. If you’re ready to contribute to shaping global policies and want to be part of a vibrant, international network of youth leaders, this is your chance to step forward and make your voice count.
Applications are reviewed by a diverse panel within the OECD to ensure the group reflects a broad range of backgrounds and experiences. If you believe in inclusive progress and want to help guide the green and digital transformations, apply to join Youthwise and become part of the global conversation.
