VIRTUAL PAID : Apply for the Human Impacts Institute 2026 Artivism & Amplifiers Fellowship

Applications are now open for the 2026 Artivism & Amplifiers Fellowship, a paid international program designed to empower young climate leaders to combine creative expression, storytelling, and advocacy in advancing climate action worldwide.

Organized by the Human Impacts Institute, this six-month virtual fellowship brings together youth from both the Global North and Global South to collaborate across cultures and develop innovative climate communication campaigns.

About the Fellowship

The Artivism & Amplifiers Fellowship is a global learning and collaboration experience that supports emerging changemakers working at the intersection of art, activism, and climate justice. Participants will work in international partnerships to design multimedia campaigns that inspire community engagement and environmental action.

Throughout the program, fellows will strengthen their understanding of climate science, advocacy, and communication while gaining practical skills in creative storytelling and campaign development.

Selected projects will be showcased as part of the Creative Climate Awards 2027, highlighting youth-led solutions and artistic responses to the climate crisis.

Program Details

  • Format: Fully Virtual
  • Duration: Mid-September 2026 – Mid-March 2027
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours per week (about 80 hours total)
  • Meeting Window: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (NYC Time / GMT+2 equivalent sessions)

Fellowship Learning Journey

Participants will move through several thematic phases:

1. Intercultural Collaboration
Building trust, partnership skills, and shared approaches to global climate organizing.

2. Understanding the Climate Crisis
Interactive sessions exploring climate science, policy, advocacy, and global solutions.

3. Storytelling for Climate Action
Hands-on workshops covering journalism, film, podcasting, visual arts, photography, and digital media.

4. Campaign Development
Global teams co-create community-based creative climate campaigns supported by mentors.

5. Amplification & Public Engagement
Projects are prepared for global showcase through exhibitions and outreach campaigns.

6. Reflection & Future Leadership
Participants develop next-step plans and continue engagement within an international climate network.

Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship seeks up to 30 youth fellows passionate about climate action and creative engagement.

- Ideal applicants include individuals who:

- Are 18–30 years old (or recognized as youth within Indigenous/local communities)

- Demonstrate commitment to climate action and community engagement

- Have influence within a community, movement, or online platform

- Are interested in storytelling, media, arts, or creative advocacy

- Want to deepen understanding of environmental justice and systemic climate challenges

- Can collaborate across cultures and global regions

- Have reliable internet access for virtual participation

- Are proficient in English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese

Applications from individuals most affected by climate change—including Indigenous peoples, diaspora communities, persons with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other underrepresented groups—are strongly encouraged.
