VOLUNTEERING : Apply for the AYM4COP 2026 Young African Climate Volunteers program

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 volunteer cohort of Africa Youth Mobilization for COP (AYM4COP), a youth-driven initiative focused on strengthening African youth participation in climate action and international climate policy processes.

The program offers young people across Africa an opportunity to contribute to a growing continental movement working to amplify youth voices in climate governance, advocacy, research, and capacity building.

About AYM4COP

Africa Youth Mobilization for COP (AYM4COP) works to improve coordination, collaboration, and support systems that help African youth engage more effectively in climate action and global climate negotiations. The initiative seeks to address barriers that often limit meaningful youth participation in international climate discussions, including the United Nations climate conferences.

As preparations for upcoming climate negotiations continue, AYM4COP is expanding its volunteer network and inviting motivated young Africans to contribute their expertise and ideas toward advancing climate solutions and youth representation.

Volunteer Opportunities

Successful applicants will join one of the program’s specialized working groups based on their interests, skills, and experience.

Available working groups include:

Communications

Support storytelling, content creation, digital engagement, media outreach, and awareness campaigns that highlight youth-led climate action across Africa.

Partnerships

Help strengthen collaborations with organizations, institutions, networks, and stakeholders working in climate action and sustainable development.

Research

Education and Training

Assist in developing learning resources, training opportunities, and capacity-building activities that equip young people with climate knowledge and leadership skills.

Application Process

Applicants will be asked to provide information about their background, interests, motivation, skills, and availability. This information will be used to determine the most appropriate working group placement.

Young Africans interested in advancing climate action and ensuring stronger youth representation in global climate discussions are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
