VOLUNTEERING : Join the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) 2026/2027

Applications are now open for the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC), a continental youth leadership initiative led by the African Union.

Programme Overview

Launched in 2010, the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps serves as one of the African Union’s flagship programmes dedicated to youth empowerment and professional development. The initiative recruits, prepares, and deploys talented young professionals from all 55 AU Member States to undertake a 12-month professional volunteer assignment across the continent.

The programme promotes volunteerism as a driver of youth participation in Africa’s development agenda while strengthening skills exchange, collaboration, and innovation among young Africans. Through AU-YVC, participants contribute to advancing Agenda 2063 — “The Africa We Want,” which envisions a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated continent led by its citizens.

The initiative aligns with the decision adopted by AU Heads of State and Government to establish a continental volunteer programme aimed at empowering youth and accelerating sustainable development across Africa.
