About SDSN Youth
SDSN Youth is an initiative of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), established in 2015 to empower young people around the world to develop and promote solutions that advance sustainable development.
The network works on youth outreach, awareness raising, capacity building, advocacy, collaboration, and efforts connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
Role Overview
The Internal Communications & Engagement Project Officer will work with the SDSN Youth leadership team to strengthen communication and relationships across its global network.
The role will involve supporting member and alumni engagement, recruitment activities, internal communications, administrative systems, and initiatives designed to encourage participation across the network.
Because SDSN Youth operates as a global virtual network, the successful candidate will need to communicate proactively, manage responsibilities independently, and provide regular updates to the team.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Officer will be expected to:
- Maintain internal databases, directories, and contact lists.
- Keep internal documents, guidelines, and templates accurate and accessible.
- Support the distribution of internal announcements and updates.
- Assist with recruitment outreach and application coordination.
- Communicate with candidates during recruitment processes.
- Support alumni engagement activities and initiatives.
- Maintain alumni records and contact databases.
- Help coordinate meetings, activities, and other engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to effective internal communication across the SDSN Youth network.
- Follow SDSN Youth's code of conduct and SDG guiding principles.
Duration and Time Commitment
The initial appointment will run for 12 months, including a three-month trial period. The position may be extended depending on performance and organizational needs.
The role requires approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
The Project Officer will report to the SDSN Youth Global Manager and is expected to maintain proactive communication with the team.
Compensation
This is a voluntary, unpaid position.
Selected candidates will be required to complete SDSN Youth's online induction courses, review relevant guidelines, and participate in other training provided during the onboarding process.

- Have professional or volunteer experience in areas such as operations, internal communications, people and culture, or related fields.
- Have experience using communication and management tools such as Google Workspace.
