Applications are open for the Future For Nature Awards 2027, an international award programme that celebrates outstanding young conservationists making a lasting impact on the protection of wild species. Each year, three exceptional individuals receive financial support and global recognition for their commitment to biodiversity conservation and environmental leadership.
The programme seeks to empower emerging conservation leaders whose work has already delivered measurable results and who are committed to expanding their efforts in the years ahead.
Selection Process
The selection process includes several stages:
- Eligibility screening of submitted applications.
- Evaluation by the National Selection Committee.
- Shortlisting of approximately 6 to 12 nominees.
- Submission of additional supporting materials, including references and multimedia content.
- Final review by the International Selection Committee.
- Approval of the three winners by the Future For Nature Foundation Board.
Successful applicants will be officially announced after accepting the award.

Additional Information
Each of the three selected winners will receive:
- €50,000 to support a conservation initiative of their choice.
- International recognition for their conservation achievements.
- An opportunity to present their work during the Future For Nature Awards Ceremony in Arnhem, the Netherlands, scheduled for May 2027.
- Fully funded travel and accommodation to attend the awards event.
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application.
- Demonstrate significant and sustained contributions to the conservation of one or more wild species.
- Show leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship in conservation efforts.
- Have a proven commitment and passion for protecting biodiversity.
- Intend to continue advancing conservation work in the future.
- Be able to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and speaking.
Applications from organisations, teams, or institutions are not eligible.
Applicants should submit information based on their ongoing conservation work, rather than proposing a future project. The application should reflect the applicant's own experiences, achievements, and conservation vision.
While AI tools may be used for guidance during preparation, applications must be written in the applicant's own words. Submissions that rely heavily on AI-generated content may be excluded from the selection process.
Please note that individuals who applied for the 2026 Future For Nature Awards are not eligible to apply for the 2027 edition due to the programme's one-year waiting period between applications.
