The three-year Doctoral Program in Sustainability and Climate Resilience (PhD-SCR) empowers exceptional students to develop the expertise needed to build a resilient and sustainable society. This society will effectively address and manage the complexities of climate change, rethinking sustainable development beyond mere economic growth. The program explores the intricate relationships between technological advancements, natural resource management, migration, human rights, climate change, food and water security, and the well-being of current and future generations.

To tackle these challenges, universities must integrate sustainability and climate resilience into their education. This requires innovative, interdisciplinary approaches that combine diverse skills, methods, and communication strategies. The program's primary objective is to provide doctoral candidates with comprehensive training, leveraging a network of high-profile educators from various disciplines, including ecology, technology, economics, engineering, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, and agriculture.

PhD candidates will have the opportunity to develop effective strategies for achieving the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program offers six specialized curricula: Earth Systems and Sustainability, Socio-Economic Resilience, Technology and Territorial Development, Institutional Dynamics and Cultural Perspectives, Agricultural and Forest Systems, and Health and Ecosystems.
