Apply for the 2025 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program
The Global Youth Climate Network (GYCN), an initiative of the Youth-to-Youth (Y2Y) Community of young professionals at the World Bank Group, in collaboration with Connect4Climate (C4C) – a World Bank Group program driving climate action through advocacy, partnerships, and creative communications – is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program. We are looking for passionate young leaders from around the world who are dedicated to climate solutions and sustainable development, with a proven history of community engagement and empowerment.
The Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program is a six-month online initiative that empowers youth climate leadership by providing participants the opportunity to connect with peers, learn from World Bank experts and C4C Knowledge Partners, and take actionable climate steps within their communities and globally.
The program combines technical and practical sessions that offer in-depth knowledge of climate change challenges outlined in the World Bank Group Climate Change Action Plan. Additionally, participants will receive guidance on how to effectively communicate their climate knowledge for maximum impact. By the end of the program, participants must attend a set number of learning sessions and implement three tangible climate actions in their community. Those who meet these criteria will graduate and receive a certificate of completion.
Important Notes:
- GYCN-Y2Y is a volunteer-based organization and cannot offer funding to Climate Ambassadors. The program is focused on non-monetary capacity building.
- Previous ambassadors are not eligible to apply.
