FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the ADB Young Professionals Program 2026

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is offering early-career professionals an opportunity to build a long-term career in international development through its Young Professionals Program (YPP). The structured talent programme is designed for professionals who have already gained relevant academic and work experience and are ready to contribute to development work across Asia and the Pacific.

The programme combines hands-on professional experience, a rotational assignment, mentoring and broader development opportunities within ADB. Successful Young Professionals begin with a three-year fixed-term appointment at ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

About the ADB Young Professionals Program

The ADB Young Professionals Program provides a foundation for a challenging career in an international development environment. Participants begin in an operations or operations-support role, gaining practical exposure to ADB's policies, procedures and core operations.

After the initial 18 months, Young Professionals move into a rotational assignment in another area of the Bank. The placement is intended to reflect both the participant's career interests and ADB's organizational needs, allowing participants to broaden their experience and develop deeper subject-matter expertise.

Young Professionals can also take part in activities such as fact-finding missions, policy studies and project implementation, while receiving guidance through ADB's Young Professional mentorship programme.

Career Development

The programme is structured to expose participants to different aspects of development work rather than limiting them to a single assignment.

The initial placement provides practical experience in ADB's operations or operations-support functions. Following 18 months, the rotational assignment allows participants to work in another area, helping broaden their professional experience and subject-matter knowledge.

Mentorship is also an important part of the programme, with experienced ADB technical staff providing guidance to Young Professionals as they develop their careers.

Work Location

The initial assignment is based at ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines. ADB's headquarters brings together an international workforce working on development challenges across Asia and the Pacific.

Why Consider the Programme?

For professionals at the beginning of their international development careers, the ADB Young Professionals Program provides structured exposure to development operations, policy work and project implementation while allowing participants to build experience across different areas of the institution.

The programme is particularly relevant to professionals who want to develop their careers within an international development environment and contribute to sustainable, inclusive and resilient growth across Asia and the Pacific.
