YOUNGO COP28 Badges: Apply now for a chance to get a COP28 Observer badge
The 28th UN Conference of the Parties (COP28) is scheduled to take place in Dubai, UAE, from November 30th to December 10th, 2023. To access the UNFCCC negotiation sessions, official accreditation (receiving a "badge") is required. YOUNGO, through the organization Children and Youth International (CYI), has been allocated a number of badges for active YOUNGO members. These badges will be distributed using a pool-badge allocation system, taking into account principles of continuity, inclusivity, gender balance, and regional representation. A selection committee formed within the GCT and YOUNGO will conduct a fair and inclusive selection process based on criteria such as understanding of the UNFCCC process, prior involvement in youth/environment initiatives, especially YOUNGO, and plans for participation at COP28.
It is important to note the following as an applicant:
(i) There is no funding provided, and you are responsible for your own travel, accommodation, and expenses.
(ii) If your application is successful, the "accreditation letter" will serve as a visa support letter, but you are responsible for the visa application process.
(iii) Successful applicants will receive an NGO-badge and must adhere to the NGO participation guidelines provided by UNFCCC. YOUNGO and the GCT members are not liable for any breaches of these guidelines.
(iv) Any legal matters arising from your participation will be resolved directly between you, the NGO, and relevant law enforcement entities, and the YOUNGO GCT members are not accountable for such matters.
