SB64 BADGES: Apply for the YOUNGO SB64 virtual badges to attend the June Climate Meetings Virtually
YOUNGO has opened applications for a limited number of virtual participation badges for the upcoming SB64 climate meetings under the UNFCCC process after many applicants missed out on the highly competitive in-person accreditation slots.
The virtual participation opportunity is intended for young climate advocates and stakeholders who still wish to follow negotiations, engage in discussions, and take part in the conference remotely from different parts of the world.
According to the announcement, only 10 virtual badges will be available and the selection process will follow the YOUNGO pool badge allocation system that has been in place since 2018. The process is expected to consider continued engagement within YOUNGO while also creating room for new participants interested in becoming active in the constituency. Consideration will also be given to regional and gender balance, with additional attention placed on supporting participation from young people in Global South countries, climate-vulnerable communities, women, and marginalized genders.
Applicants have been encouraged to carefully follow all instructions provided in the application form, especially word limits, as failure to do so could negatively affect their chances of selection. They should also note that the virtual badges do not come with financial support or funding.
Successful applicants will receive NGO-linked accreditation and will be expected to comply with UNFCCC participation guidelines throughout the conference period. Any violations or legal matters arising from misuse of the badge would be handled directly between the participant, the sponsoring NGO, and relevant authorities, with YOUNGO leadership not taking responsibility for individual misconduct. Participants are also expected to ensure they have reliable internet access in order to effectively follow and engage in the virtual sessions.
The application window will remain open until 4 June 2026 at 23:59 UTC.
