PAID FELLOWSHIP: Apply for this Oxfam Young Leaders Fellowship Program (with funded trip to Thailand)
In many parts of Asia, it's getting harder for people to be involved in democracy, which is causing problems for things like fairness, gender rights, and the environment. To help tackle these challenges, Oxfam in Asia and Asia Centre are happy to announce the 2nd Cohort of the Oxfam Young Leaders Fellowship Programme in Asia. This program wants to help young leaders learn how to make good changes in their communities through mentoring and hands-on experience.
The program offers different benefits, like learning opportunities in other countries, getting $400 each month for nine months, having mentors who are experienced professionals, working with leaders from Oxfam in Asia and Asia Centre, help in organizing smaller groups, and learning about international development.
To join, you need to be 27 years old or younger, be from one of the listed countries, have good ideas for making things better, be good at using digital tools to speak up, be good at English, and be interested in topics like fairness and the environment. We encourage women and people from minority groups to apply, and you can't have a full-time job.
Here's what you'll need to do:
- Work on your projects for 30-40 hours each week.
- Go to a funded workshop in Bangkok, Thailand.
- Make a group of at least 50 young people.
- Attend online meetings every month and talk about how things are going.
- Take leadership roles during the fellowship.
- Help with content for the "Civic-Asia" website.
- Go to a final meeting, either online or in person.
