Apply to join the Council of Europe’s Advisory Council on Youth (CCJ) 2026-27

Are you a passionate young changemaker eager to shape youth policy in Europe? The Council of Europe is calling on committed individuals aged 18 to 30 to apply for the Advisory Council on Youth (CCJ) for the 2026–2027 term. This is a unique opportunity for young leaders from across the continent to actively influence youth sector priorities through a meaningful co-management system that brings together youth organisations and government representatives.

The Advisory Council on Youth is the non-governmental partner in the Council of Europe’s co-management system, working hand-in-hand with the European Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ), the governmental counterpart. Together, they form the Joint Council on Youth (CMJ), where consensus and mutual understanding drive decisions on youth policies, strategic priorities, and budget allocations. This is more than just a seat at the table—it is a real chance to bring the voices of young people into European policymaking.

Applicants must represent a non-governmental youth organisation or network with legal personality based in one of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, the Holy See, or Kazakhstan. They must also be residents of these countries and have a strong interest in contributing to European youth development, youth rights, and meaningful youth participation at the policy level.

Joining the Advisory Council on Youth means being at the forefront of youth advocacy in Europe. Successful applicants will collaborate with decision-makers, develop recommendations, and help ensure that youth work, youth policy, and youth participation remain central to the Council of Europe’s mission. For young activists, youth leaders, and policy influencers, this is a valuable platform to drive change and make a lasting impact on European youth issues.

Applications are open until 18 May 2025. Youth advocates are encouraged to take this step toward influencing European youth policy and contributing to a more inclusive and youth-driven future.
