Program Benefits
Selected participants will benefit from a combination of capacity-building, mentorship, and networking opportunities designed to advance their climate leadership skills. The programme offers hands-on experience in designing and implementing community-based climate projects, knowledge in climate policy and advocacy, and access to a network of African climate leaders, mentors, and policymakers. Participants also gain the confidence and skills to influence climate decision-making at local, national, and international levels.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be young climate activists aged 18 to 30 residing in one of the eligible countries. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to community-driven climate action and a willingness to expand their influence from local initiatives to broader policy engagement. Participants are expected to actively engage in programme activities, including training, workshops, and project implementation, and demonstrate the ability to contribute to Africa’s climate leadership ecosystem. Strong motivation, innovative thinking, and prior involvement in climate or environmental initiatives are highly recommended.
Eligible Countries
This programme is open to citizens and residents of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mauritius, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda. Applicants must be living in one of these countries at the time of application and meet all other eligibility requirements specified by the programme.
