Applications are now open for the Young Climate Leaders – Ideas Lab 2026, an exciting opportunity offered by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) with support from the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung European Union | Global Dialogue. This initiative invites emerging changemakers from across the Global South who are passionate about climate action and eager to engage directly with conversations shaping Europe’s future policies.

Applicants should take note of an important update before submitting their forms. Due to a technical issue, all applications sent before 25 November 2025 were logged without an email address. Ideas Lab has grown into one of Brussels’ most influential spaces for public debate, bringing together thinkers and practitioners from around the world. Over the past decade, it has become known for vibrant, cross-sector conversations on Europe’s future—from climate responsibility to shifting geopolitical landscapes and technological change. In 2025, the event brought together close to 800 participants and more than 200 specialists, including commissioners, diplomats, parliamentarians, academics and industry figures. The 2026 edition aims to deepen global collaboration, amplifying diverse voices and offering young climate leaders access to meaningful exchanges that can shape lasting solutions.

Young people from the Global South who are driven to contribute to climate action are strongly encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates are between 20 and 35 years old, hold citizenship from one of the listed countries in the application form, possess solid English language skills, and are available to travel to Brussels from 1–4 March 2026. Applicants must also be first-time participants in Ideas Lab. This opportunity is particularly suited for emerging professionals, researchers, activists, innovators and community leaders who are already engaged in climate-related work or aspire to influence environmental decision-making.

Those selected will receive comprehensive financial support that covers travel, lodging, meals and visa expenses. While the programme does not provide a stipend, it offers significant professional value. Participants gain direct exposure to policy discussions, international cooperation and the inner workings of major events. They also benefit from the chance to meet influential figures, learn about climate diplomacy, connect with peers from around the world and explore pathways into global networks. Many previous participants have gone on to secure fellowships, mentorship opportunities and positions within international organisations.

This call represents a rare chance for committed young climate voices to engage at the centre of European dialogue and contribute fresh perspectives to global environmental leadership.
