Debunk Media Initiative, Uganda’s pioneering organization in the realm of fact-checking, is expanding its team. They are in search of dedicated, talented, and principled individuals who are eager to play a meaningful role in combating the spread of false information. As the first entity of its kind in the country, Debunk continues to strengthen its presence by promoting critical media literacy, challenging misinformation, and equipping communities with accurate, evidence-based content and digital resources.

Currently, they are seeking freelance contributors to join their team of fact-checkers. This network will support the organization’s verification efforts by assessing claims circulated through social media platforms, traditional radio, and mainstream news outlets. Individuals interested in the role should ideally have academic or professional experience in journalism, communication, or similar disciplines. Strong abilities in research and writing are crucial, and familiarity with tools and techniques used in fact-checking is highly desirable. The ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively is also essential. Prior engagement in similar verification work will be considered an added strength.
