This prestigious biennial competition, organised by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), celebrates cities that are transforming urban spaces through bold, nature-based solutions. About the Awards

The awards spotlight public-sector initiatives that integrate plants, trees, and green infrastructure into city planning to address today’s pressing environmental and social challenges. Winners gain international recognition, inspire innovation, and shape the future of sustainable urban living.

Award Categories

Cities can submit projects under one or more of the following seven categories:

1. Living Green for Biodiversity – Reviving and protecting urban ecosystems

2. Living Green for Climate Change – Driving resilience and climate solutions

3. Living Green for Health & Wellbeing – Enhancing physical and mental health

4. Living Green for Water – Promoting water-sensitive and sustainable design

5. Living Green for Social Cohesion – Building inclusive, nature-rich communities

6. Living Green for Urban Infrastructure – Greening urban spaces for better liveability

7. Living Green for Urban Agriculture – Supporting local food systems in cities

A Grand Winner will be selected from among the seven category winners.

Judging Process

• Technical Review (Late 2025): Experts select up to three finalists per category

• Jury & Youth Jury: Category winners, Grand Winner, and a Youth Jury Award are chosen from finalists
