Program Benefits

Selected innovators will receive tailored expert support, including technical guidance, funder mapping, and one-on-one mentoring from global climate finance specialists. Participants will gain access to The Lab’s global network of investors, policymakers, and partners working to scale climate finance in emerging markets.

Eligible projects may also receive up to USD 250,000 in conditional grants as pre-seed capital to pilot and accelerate implementation of their ideas. Additionally, innovators will benefit from pilot testing opportunities and visibility within international climate investment networks.

Eligibility Criteria

The Call for Ideas is open to African innovators, entrepreneurs, organizations, and consortia developing actionable, finance-ready solutions to advance climate investment in Africa. Applicants should have concepts that demonstrate clear implementation potential, financial sustainability, and measurable climate impact. Collaborative applications with public or private partners are encouraged.

Eligible ideas should align with one or more of the focus areas:
• Mitigation: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions through clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, or climate-smart technologies.
• Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems: Strengthening climate resilience in agricultural value chains and promoting food security.
