Eligibility Criteria
This fellowship is designed for early to mid-career journalists, writers, and media professionals who are actively engaged in storytelling and reporting within their countries. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong interest in political, social, and economic issues affecting Africa, particularly in relation to global power structures and local governance. Candidates should have a proven track record of journalistic work, whether through print, digital, radio, or other media platforms, and must show a commitment to ethical reporting and impactful storytelling.

In addition to professional experience, applicants must be citizens and residents of one of the eligible African countries specified by the programme. These countries include Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Applicants should also be willing to fully participate in all fellowship activities, collaborate with peers from different countries, and contribute to discussions and publications generated during the programme.
