The ICMM Young Leaders Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded opportunity offered in partnership between the International Council on Mining and Metals and One Young World. It is designed to support outstanding young leaders from around the world who are driving change in sustainability, environmental protection, and responsible resource management.
This prestigious scholarship gives selected candidates the chance to attend the One Young World Summit 2026, a global gathering of young leaders from over 190 countries. The summit will take place in Cape Town, bringing together influential changemakers, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss and solve global challenges.
The programme focuses on empowering young people who are actively working on solutions related to biodiversity conservation, decarbonisation, and sustainable development, particularly within sectors like mining and natural resources.

Additional Information
Successful applicants will receive full sponsorship to participate in the summit, including travel, accommodation, and access to all summit activities. In addition, scholars will gain exclusive opportunities such as direct engagement with ICMM leadership, including a special dialogue session with the CEO.
Participants will also become lifelong members of the One Young World Ambassador community, giving them access to a powerful global network of young leaders. The programme further includes mentorship opportunities, access to the One Young World Action Accelerator, and the Global Kickstart programme, which helps participants strengthen their leadership skills and scale their impact.
Candidates should be actively leading or contributing to initiatives that create meaningful change in areas such as biodiversity conservation, climate action (decarbonisation), responsible natural resource management, social performance (including human rights and community development), or sustainability advocacy.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate proven impact through their work, whether professionally or through personal projects, and must show a willingness to collaborate with other global leaders during and after the programme.
