FULLY FUNDED: Apply For The Market Access Program for Young Agro-Processors and Food Entrepreneurs in Uganda 2026
Program 2026 by StartHub Africa, a 12-month initiative designed to support young agro-processors and micro food entrepreneurs in Uganda to formalize, certify, and scale their businesses into structured and profitable markets. The program is implemented in partnership with SABAA.education – Bildung für Subsahara Afrika gGmbH and funded by SCHMITZ STIFTUNGEN with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
This initiative is specifically tailored to empower youth-led food businesses by providing practical business training, certification support through the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), and structured market linkage opportunities. The program focuses on helping entrepreneurs transition from informal operations to formal retail supply chains, positioning them for sustainable growth and competitiveness.

Additional Information
Participants will also receive financial and technical support to meet UNBS certification standards, including guidance on laboratory testing, packaging compliance, and facilitation of certification processes. This significantly reduces the barriers that small businesses face when entering formal markets.
In addition, the program offers structured market access and distribution support by facilitating linkages with supermarkets, retailers, and distribution partners. Entrepreneurs may also benefit from inclusion in promotional materials and business networks. Furthermore, participants join a dynamic community of over 300 entrepreneurs, enabling peer learning, collaboration, and long-term ecosystem support.
Eligible applicants must be based in Greater Kampala, Gulu, or Lira in Uganda and demonstrate a clear commitment to growing their enterprises and accessing formal retail markets. Participants should also be available to attend the required 1.5-day regional in-person training sessions and actively engage in the full duration of the 12-month program.
