Applications are open for the Max Thabiso Edkins Youth Ambassador Program 2026, a global initiative led by Connect4Climate (C4C) in partnership with the World Bank Youth2Youth (Y2Y) community. This program empowers young changemakers to deepen their understanding of sustainability, climate action, and green jobs while taking meaningful action in their communities. Selected participants will engage in a six-month program combining learning from experts, project implementation, networking, and joining a global alumni community. The initiative focuses on developing leadership skills, fostering collaboration, and contributing to sustainable development solutions worldwide.

Program Benefits

Selected ambassadors will gain access to expert-led learning sessions, mentorship, and resources to implement community-based projects. Participants will expand their professional networks, engage with peers worldwide, and contribute to global initiatives addressing sustainability and development challenges. The program offers hands-on experience in project implementation, exposure to high-impact global initiatives, and inclusion in a network of over 600 former youth ambassadors. While fully structured and providing extensive learning and networking opportunities, the program does not provide a monetary stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be between 20 and 30 years old and actively pursuing or beginning a career in a sector related to sustainability, climate action, or green development. Candidates should demonstrate strong motivation, curiosity, and passion for addressing global challenges through collaborative action. Previous ambassadors and current World Bank Group employees are not eligible. The program is open to all countries globally, prioritizing young people committed to making a tangible impact in their communities and beyond.
