The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides comprehensive financial support covering full international tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, pre-arrival and immigration assistance, a monthly living stipend, academic books and learning resources, and leadership development opportunities. Scholars also receive mentorship, entrepreneurship training, career support, and access to a global network of Mastercard Foundation Scholars and alumni committed to driving positive change across Africa. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of and currently reside in an African country. They must not have previously enrolled in or completed a master’s degree and must be eligible for admission to one of the participating master’s programmes at McGill University. Candidates should be 35 years of age or younger at the time of application, possess an outstanding academic record, demonstrate exceptional leadership and community engagement, show a strong commitment to returning home to contribute to national development, and provide evidence that financial barriers have limited their educational opportunities. Applicants must also hold a valid passport and be eligible to obtain a Canadian study permit. Priority is given to women, refugees and displaced persons, and applicants living with disabilities.
