Fully Funded : Apply for the PICAN Climate Action Accelerator Program (CAAP)

The Climate Action Accelerator Program (CAAP) is an initiative inspired by the Pacific’s rich tradition of navigation. Drawing on the ancient wisdom of Pacific Navigators—who expertly used the stars, winds, and currents to navigate vast oceans—this program empowers Pacific youth to steer their path in addressing climate challenges.

Targeting Pacific youth between the ages of 18–35, or those transitioning careers, the program provides them with the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to confront critical climate issues like biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change.

As Climate Navigators, successful participants will embark on an intensive journey of learning, gaining expertise in:

  • Climate science and its effects on the Pacific region.
  • Creating innovative and practical solutions for climate adaptation and mitigation.
  • Producing high-quality knowledge products such as policy briefs, infographics, and reports.
  • Advocacy skills to influence policy and foster sustainable change.
  • Leadership qualities based on resilience, adaptability, and collaboration.

This hybrid program combines virtual and in-person activities, offering participants the chance to engage with regional experts, collaborate in group work, and develop impactful climate solutions. In addition to individual growth, the program will launch the PICAN Knowledge Hub—a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration to support Pacific SIDS negotiators, policymakers, and climate advocates.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 5pm FJT Friday 14 February 2025.
