The 2026 edition of the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) is now accepting applications. This prestigious scholarship program presents a rare chance for individuals to pursue a two-year Master’s degree in a developing or middle-income Commonwealth nation. It targets passionate individuals dedicated to making meaningful contributions in their communities. Selected scholars will not only gain access to quality education but also immerse themselves in a different cultural setting, expanding their worldview and building enduring international relationships.

Participants in the QECS program actively contribute to progress through academic cooperation and cultural exchange, aiming to address mutual global issues faced both by their home countries and host nations. As members of the wider Commonwealth community, they play a pivotal role in shaping its development and future direction.

Applicants must be nationals or legally recognized refugees in one of the Commonwealth countries. The program is open to all ages and requires candidates to have earned at least an upper second-class undergraduate degree or its equivalent. Those awarded the scholarship will receive full coverage for tuition, a living stipend for the duration of the program, round-trip airfare in economy class, a one-time settlement grant, and, if needed and approved, funding for research-related expenses.

Recipients of the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships will enjoy a comprehensive support package that covers all essential costs associated with their studies. This includes full payment of tuition fees for the entire duration of the two-year Master’s program. Scholars will also receive a living allowance to help cover daily expenses while studying in their host country. In addition, the program provides round-trip economy class airfare, ensuring scholars can travel to and from their host country without financial burden. Upon arrival, a one-time allowance is given to help with initial settling-in costs. For those involved in academic research, additional financial support may be available through a Research Support Grant, which is offered upon request and subject to approval.
