FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the Saïd Foundation Scholarships 2027/28 in the UK

Applications are now open for the Saïd Foundation Scholarships 2027/28, offering fully funded opportunities for outstanding students from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine to pursue one-year Master’s degree programmes at universities across the United Kingdom.

The scholarship programme is aimed at individuals with strong academic backgrounds, leadership potential and a clear commitment to contributing to positive change in their communities and the wider Middle East region. Successful scholars will study at one of the Saïd Foundation’s partner universities and are expected to use their education and experience to contribute to the development of their home country or region.

About the Saïd Foundation Scholarships

The Saïd Foundation has provided educational scholarships and training opportunities since 1984. Its scholarship programme seeks to support talented individuals who have the potential to become leaders and contribute to the social and economic development of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

The programme supports one-year Master’s degree studies in the UK across a wide range of academic disciplines. There are no specific restrictions on subject areas, but applicants must demonstrate how their chosen field of study can contribute to the development of their home country or region.

Eligible Courses

The scholarship is available for one-year Master’s degree programmes in the UK.

There are no restrictions on academic disciplines. However, candidates must clearly demonstrate that their proposed area of study will provide knowledge and skills that can be applied toward the development of their home country or region.

Applicants are expected to apply to one or more of the Foundation’s partner universities.

Applications to non-partner universities may only be considered where the proposed course is not available at a Foundation partner university. Candidates choosing this route must provide a clear explanation in their application.

The Foundation does not support:

  • Undergraduate programmes
  • PhD programmes
  • Study at universities outside the UK

Selection Criteria

The Saïd Foundation considers applications based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership potential and the applicant’s ability to create meaningful impact after completing their studies.

The selection process considers:

  • Academic excellence
  • Relevance and usefulness of the chosen subject to the applicant’s home country
  • Leadership potential
  • Commitment to serving the community
  • Future career plans
  • Relevant professional or voluntary experience
  • The applicant’s ability to apply knowledge gained in the UK after returning to the Middle East

Applicants should therefore demonstrate more than strong academic performance. Their application should clearly show how their education, leadership and future career plans connect to positive change in their community or region.

Application Process

Candidates should first identify an eligible Master’s programme at a Saïd Foundation partner university and submit an application for admission.

They must also ensure that they meet the Foundation’s English language requirements and prepare all required supporting documentation before submitting the scholarship application.

Where an applicant wishes to study at a non-partner university, the proposed course must not be available at a partner institution, and a clear justification must be included in the scholarship application.

Applicants are encouraged to begin preparing their university and scholarship applications well before the deadline, particularly because admission requirements and English language requirements may vary between universities.

The Foundation provides detailed information on eligible partner universities, English language requirements, application procedures and the selection timeline through its official website.
