FULLY FUNDED: Apply For The The World Around Young Climate Prize 2026

Applications are open for the Young Climate Prize 2026, a prestigious global opportunity designed to identify, mentor, and amplify exceptional young climate leaders who are already building practical solutions to the climate crisis. Organized by The World Around, this international prize supports young innovators whose projects are community-driven, scalable, and creating real impact on the ground. The program is not just a prize but an accelerator and mentorship platform that connects young changemakers with global experts, strengthens their initiatives, and elevates their ideas onto an international stage.

This opportunity is aimed at young people who are not simply proposing ideas, but actively implementing climate solutions through self-initiated projects in areas such as environmental justice, renewable energy, circular economy, biodiversity, sustainable design, climate education, and other innovative responses to climate challenges. Selected finalists become part of a global community of “25 Under 25” climate leaders, gaining visibility, mentorship, and opportunities to present their work internationally. The prize recognizes that young people are not only future leaders but current problem-solvers already driving climate action in their communities.

Program Benefits
Selected finalists will join the globally recognized 25 Under 25 cohort and gain access to a rich package of support designed to strengthen both their projects and personal leadership journeys. Participants benefit from mentorship by globally respected experts and practitioners, workshops and learning opportunities through the Design Academy, and access to an international peer community of climate innovators.

The program also offers significant international visibility, helping participants amplify their work through storytelling, media exposure, and global recognition. Finalists can showcase their ideas before influential audiences and connect with partners and supporters who may help grow their impact.

In addition, prize winners receive the opportunity to travel to New York City to present their work at The World Around Summit, providing a powerful platform for exposure and collaboration. Beyond the prize itself, participants gain long-term access to a global network that can continue supporting their climate leadership journeys.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be between 13 and 25 years old and must be founders or co-founders actively leading a climate-focused project or initiative. The opportunity is open to individuals or teams of up to three co-founders, provided each team member independently meets the age requirements.

A key requirement is that applicants must already be implementing a real-world project. This is not a competition for ideas at concept stage; instead, it seeks young innovators who have launched initiatives already making measurable or emerging impact in their communities. Projects should demonstrate originality, local relevance, and potential to scale or inspire broader adaptation.

Applicants should also show commitment to learning, collaboration, and engaging fully in the mentorship and academy components of the program. Strong candidates are typically those demonstrating creativity, leadership, environmental commitment, and practical action through community-rooted solutions to climate challenges.
Eligible Countries
This opportunity is open globally to applicants from all countries. Young climate leaders from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, Oceania, and all regions worldwide are eligible to apply, provided they meet the age and project requirements. The prize welcomes applications from young people working in urban, rural, and frontline communities affected by climate change.

Because the initiative is global and inclusive, applicants from underrepresented regions, Indigenous communities, conflict-affected areas, island states, and communities disproportionately impacted by climate change are strongly encouraged to apply. The program values diverse lived experiences and recognizes climate leadership emerging from every part of the world.
