Call for Applications: 2026 Türkiye Scholarships Now Open

Applications have officially opened for the 2026 Türkiye Scholarships, a fully funded opportunity offering diverse study pathways for international students across different academic levels, regions, and priority fields. Through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS), applicants receive structured guidance on available universities and academic programs to support informed choices.

The scholarship portfolio includes associate degree options focused on technical and vocational education, providing learners with practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge to strengthen their career prospects. Undergraduate opportunities are available across a broad range of disciplines, including engineering, health-related fields, humanities, and social sciences, tailored specifically for students pursuing their first university degree. For advanced study, graduate scholarships support Master’s and PhD candidates in social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and engineering at leading universities throughout Türkiye.

In addition, the Merit Scholarship Program is designed for high-achieving students seeking to continue their studies in Türkiye, offering financial support with a monthly stipend that is significantly higher than standard awards at the same academic level. Short-term funding options are also available through specialized programs. The Success Scholarship targets self-funded international students already enrolled in Turkish universities who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and provides monthly financial support. The Research Scholarship supports international researchers and doctoral candidates at the dissertation stage, enabling them to collaborate with Turkish academics at top institutions.

The scholarships are open to applicants from all countries. Minimum academic performance requirements generally include at least 70% for associate and bachelor’s applicants, 75% for master’s and doctoral candidates, and 90% for those applying to health-related programs such as medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. Age eligibility limits apply: applicants must be under 21 for undergraduate study, under 30 for master’s programs, under 35 for doctoral programs, and under 50 for research scholarships. Applicants who are currently studying in Türkiye are not eligible to apply for funding at the same level of study, and short-term programs may introduce additional criteria that should be reviewed carefully during the application period. It is also important to note that medical specialization programs are not included in the Türkiye Scholarships scheme.

Award recipients benefit from comprehensive support that typically covers tuition fees, a one-year Turkish language course, health insurance, accommodation, and a one-time international flight ticket. Monthly stipends vary by level of study, with undergraduate scholars receiving around 4,500 TL, master’s students 6,500 TL, and doctoral candidates 9,000 TL per month. Research scholarship recipients may receive a higher monthly allowance, which can reach approximately 25,000 TL, depending on the program structure.

Applicants are required to submit all materials through the online application system. Standard documents include a valid passport or national ID, a recent photograph, academic transcripts or certificates of graduation (unless the applicant is in their final year), national or international examination results where applicable, language proficiency certificates if required by the chosen program, and for PhD candidates, a research proposal along with a sample of academic writing.
