The University of Birmingham, in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign through the BRIDGE partnership, is offering the Global South Fellowship Program 2026 for early-career researchers. This prestigious visiting fellowship is designed to strengthen research capacity, promote global academic collaboration, and build long-term institutional partnerships between researchers from the Global South and leading international universities.

The program provides selected fellows with an opportunity to spend up to three months engaging in advanced research, gaining exposure to international academic systems, and collaborating with world-class researchers in fields addressing major global challenges. Participants will benefit from a highly interactive academic environment while contributing to meaningful research discussions and knowledge exchange initiatives.  

This fellowship focuses on key thematic areas such as education access and equity, global health, sustainability, and climate action, ensuring that selected scholars contribute to solving pressing global issues while advancing their own academic careers.
