Applications are open for the Wema Bank Hackaholics 7.0 Innovation Challenge 2026, one of Africa’s largest innovation and entrepreneurship platforms designed to empower startups, innovators, developers, students, entrepreneurs, creatives, and technology enthusiasts. Organised by Wema Bank under the theme “Powering Possibilities,” the programme aims to identify and support innovative technology-driven solutions that address real-world challenges across Africa.

Hackaholics 7.0 features three major tracks: the Startup Pitch Competition, Hackathon, and the newly introduced Social Impact Track. Participants will have the opportunity to develop and present innovative solutions in sectors such as Financial Inclusion, Healthcare, Digital Transformation, Education, Sustainability, Social Impact, and the Future of Work. The programme includes regional pitch events, mentorship sessions, networking opportunities, and a grand finale where top innovators compete for significant prizes and investment opportunities. Program Benefits

Participants will compete for over ₦200 million in cash prizes and funding to help scale their innovations. They will also receive mentorship from leading experts in banking, technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, helping them refine both their products and business models.

In addition, participants will gain access to Wema Bank’s APIs and technology tools, receive valuable exposure before investors and industry leaders, build professional networks across Africa’s innovation ecosystem, and stand a chance to secure internship and employment opportunities with Wema Bank. Eligibility Criteria

The programme is open to young Africans, including startup founders, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, innovators, students, and other creative problem-solvers. Applicants do not need to have a computer science degree or be professional programmers to participate. Individuals and teams are welcome to apply, depending on the track they choose.

Applicants should have innovative ideas or existing technology solutions that address one or more of the programme’s challenge areas. Startup founders applying for the Startup Pitch Competition are encouraged to demonstrate the uniqueness and scalability of their solutions, while Hackathon participants should be prepared to collaborate in building practical solutions during the competition.
