FULLY FUNDED: Apply For The WFSJ Fellowships for Science Journalists to Attend Kavli Prize Week 2026 in Norway

Applications are open for the 2026 Fellowships for Science Journalists to attend Kavli Prize Week in Oslo, Norway. The opportunity is organized by the  World Federation of Science Journalists in partnership with the  The Kavli Prize and the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. The fellowship gives selected science journalists the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Kavli Prize Week, where groundbreaking achievements in astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience are celebrated. Participants will have the chance to meet leading scientists, attend lectures and ceremonies, interview laureates, and report on major scientific discoveries.

Program Benefits
Selected fellows will receive support to attend the full Kavli Prize Week in Oslo, Norway. The fellowship includes access to official Kavli Prize Week events, including award ceremonies, scientific lectures, symposia, networking events, and opportunities to interview laureates and researchers. Fellows will gain international exposure, connect with other science journalists from around the world, and strengthen their science reporting skills. Previous editions of the program have covered travel and accommodation costs for selected journalists.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be professional science journalists working either full-time or as freelancers. Journalists from all regions of the world are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate experience in science journalism and show strong interest in covering topics related to astrophysics, nanoscience, neuroscience, or broader scientific developments. Candidates working in print, digital media, television, radio, podcasting, and multimedia journalism are eligible to apply. Applicants should also be available to attend the entire Kavli Prize Week program in Oslo, Norway.
